Making a difference

Let's start by saying, I am a runner so the recent events in Boston make me very sad.  People who run, people who support, people who take a mild interest in marathons are amazing people.  They endure, support, and encourage those that would challenge the very threshold of human capabilities.  Today I just want to talk about making a difference.  In your life and in other peoples there are small things we can do to make a difference.  One of the easiest things you can do is run, bike or walk for a cause.  There is a free app I use called Charity Miles.
Charity Miles

You can pick what charity you want to donate to and the best part is it is all completely free!!  They make money from advertisers and such (which never interrupt your run, walk, or bike).  You can also make a difference by donating blood in your area like some runners did after the Boston marathon to give to victims.

Just remember that after you do, your exercise regimine should decrease slightly.  Wait at least 24-36 hours before performing a heavy cardio exercise and for double blood 36-48 hours.

Other ways to help in your area would be to donate to a local food bank.  I always ask what fresh vegetables and fruits they can use (some don't accept any) or canned foods such as beans, corns, tomatoes, etc.  To connect to a local food back click the link below.

But whatever you do to give back remember that however small or insignificant you or your deed may feel it matters to someone else probably more than you will ever know.

Welcome!  I am very excited to introduce this blog!  I am a Personal Trainer certified in 2009 and a certified Nutritional Consultant from GCNM as well as a Master Herbalist.  I was going for my bachelors in Holistic Health but unfortunately the school closed and I was unable to finish.  Now going for my Bachelors in Nutritional Science I am set to enter UWM this fall.  I love helping clients and others live a healthy, happy, fit life.  I will post recipes, healthy substitutions, exercises, videos, rants, raves and everything in between, but mostly I want to help others.  Whether it is to help you make a tasty meal, help you get a great workout, or help you change your life completely, I just want to help.
